Allowing Evil

Those who witness evil and do nothing are as guilty as those doing the evil. They will try to claim that it wasn't them, that they did nothing, but that is not true. They allowed the evil to happen, and that is also evil.

In Catholic theology, these are called "sins of omission", which are not as evil on their sliding scale of evil as sins of commission, but still count as sins that'll send you straight to the fires of Hell unless you do x, y, and z. How the Church hierarchy justifies their sins of omissions regarding addressing pedophilia among their ranks given that their own theology says that they are sinning, I don't know, but (shrug). IOKIYAP, I guess.
