It couldn't be any simpler. When workers make a decent wage (and don't have to spend it all for medical care), then they have the money to buy things -- and that creates demand for goods/services, which creates more jobs (which again creates more demand). And this is good for both workers and businesses. The only people it's not good for are Republican politicians, who've been telling us that the way to cure a jobless recession is to take money out of the economy. If the GOP policy wasn't so disastrous, it would be laughable. We need to raise the minimum wage immediately -- to a livable wage of at least $10 an hour.
