Walker Leads In Iowa - Trump Vaults Into Second
While Donald Trump seems to have seized the lead in the latest national polls, the same cannot be said for Iowa. The Monmouth University Poll queried 452 Iowa likely GOP caucus-atendees between July 16th and 19th. Their survey has a margin of error of 4.6 points.
The Iowa Republicans give Scott Walker 22% support. That's 9 points better than Donald Trump, who finished with 13%. This probably shouldn't surprise us. Walker is from a neighbor state of Iowa, and voters tend to like candidates from their own area of the country.
The other candidates should probably be worried though. Donald Trump vaulted over all of them to finish second for Iowa Republicans. The closest candidates are Carson (8%) and Crux (7%).
Walker also did well when the poll broke down the race with some GOP demographic groups. The demographic results are shown in the charts below.
