About 362,000 Workers Filed For Unemployment Last Week

 

The Labor Department released its weekly unemployment statistics on Thursday. It showed that another 362,000 workers filed for unemployment benefits in the week ending on September 25th. That marks the third week in a row that the number filing has increased over the previous week.

In the week ending September 25, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 362,000, an increase of 11,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 351,000. The 4-week moving average was 340,000, an increase of 4,250 from the previous week's unrevised average of 335,750.
