All humans are the same --...That's true, Frank. All humans are the same -- whether they are Iranian, American or something else. Sadly, both Iranians and Americans are propagandized into being afraid of each other by their politicians.Ted McLaughlinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15035498835671628943noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24213446.post-48333207610631692902015-07-16T01:41:09.407-05:002015-07-16T01:41:09.407-05:00I'm pleased with the deal too. And everything ...I'm pleased with the deal too. And everything you wrote is exactly right.

Today will be the 70th anniversary of the Trinity test -- the first nuclear explosion. Within a month, we would drop similar bombs on Japan killing well over 100,000 civilians. So I don't think we have a lot of credibility in discussing this. I agree with you: I don't want Iran to have a nuclear weapon. I don't want anyone to have a nuclear weapon. But to claim that Iran is an especially bad actor is just nonsense.

What I hate most of all is this idea I continue to hear that Iran would give this kind of weapon to a terrorist organization. People don't think about what they say. Muslim terrorist groups are most good at killing other Muslims. So if Iran gave a nuke to a terrorist group, they could very easily see it used against themselves. Regardless, why would Iran, or any other country, go to all the trouble of developing a nuclear weapon just to give it away? All this kind of thinking is built on a dehumanized conception of Iranians.

Frank Moraeshttp://franklycurious.comnoreply@blogger.com
