The Pew Research Center recently did a survey on how much support the various gun law proposals each had -- and they found that some (like closing background check loopholes) had a lot of support, while others (like banning assault weapons) had much less support. The Gallup Poll took a different tack. On the day after President Obama revealed his gun law proposals, they asked people if they supported all of them as a package.
It turns out that a majority of the American public would support all of the proposals as a package (53%), while a significant minority would oppose that package of gun laws (41%) -- and 7% didn't know what they believed. Here is the demographic breakdown from the poll by Gallup (with the first number being those in favor of Obama's proposals and the second number being those opposed to it):
