Clinton Flip-Flops On Job Outsourcing

This past week, Hillary Clinton accused Barack Obama of flip-flopping on public campaign financing. Then last night in Ohio, she pulled a huge flip-flop herself.

Last July, I pointed out that Clinton had taken a position in favor of job outsourcing. She had received millions of dollars from lobbyists and corporate interests because of this position, including the USINPAC group.

This group of Indian businessmen had this to say about Clinton on their website, "Even though she was against outsourcing at the beginning of her career, she has since changed her position and now maintains that offshoring brings as much economic value to the United States as to the country where services are outsourced, especially India."

When Lou Dobbs questioned her about her position in favor of allowing oursourcing, she told him that outsourcing does work both ways. She defended outsourcing and defended her husband's approval of NAFTA.

But speaking to workers in Ohio last night, she sounded like a totally different person. She told them that she would punish any company that tried to outsource American jobs.

This is one of the things that bothers me about Clinton. Exactly what is her real position on outsourcing? Does she have a real position? Or is her position dictated by who she is talking to?

  2. Anybody who understands economics knows that job outsourcing benefits the economy by providing cheaper goods to AMerican citizens! It SCARES me to think that the American public does not understand this simple concept! Let's face it...any presidential candidate that thinks they can stop corporations from outsourcing are LIARS! They just want the votes from unions and the blue-collar workers. NO ONE can stop globalization...it is in FULL FORCE! Job outsourcing and free trade will benefit the economy more than hurt it. Even though some people do lose their jobs, more jobs are created in the long run...and HIGHER PAYING jobs are created in the long run! Everyone knows 1+1=2! Let's stop fooling ourselves...Obama does not want to stop job outsourcing any more than Clinton...they just make certain promises to get votes! Hello? Does anyone have a brain anymore? How can one expect to stop businesses from outsourcing? Why don't we worry about educating our citizens, so our future generations will be smart enough to get better paying careers than manufacturing or simple tech jobs?

  3. If you honestly think products are cheaper when jobs are oursourced, your a fool. I would like to be the fly on the wall when you either take a pay cut or lose your job due to outsourcing. I honestly would like to know what job you have where a 10 cent price cut on a product is going to make or break your finances because really thats the most that products go down due to outsourcing. Microsofts Xbox's still cost alot, Intels CPU's are still high price the list goes on so I can already say your 100% wrong in what you said about outsourcing. We here in the US lose jobs due to it and take pay cuts and companies maximize on profits AND NOTHING GOES DOWN IN PRICE get that through your thick skull because time and time again it has never happend.
