Two-Toned Rangers Helmet Is Out

When the Texas Rangers introduced their new uniforms for the 2009 season, one of the re-designs was a two-toned red and blue helmet (see above). Personally, I liked most of the uniform changes, but the red and blue batting helmet is incredibly ugly! Would you want to have to wear that thing?

Evidently, the players didn't like it either. Hank Blalock said it made the players look like clowns. Fortunately, someone in the Rangers organization came to their senses. They have changed their minds and the new helmets will not be worn this season.

The Rangers are going back to their blue helmets, except for the 16 games in which they wear the red uniforms. A solid red helmet will be worn with the red uniforms.

Thank goodness. It's hard enough to win wearing a Ranger uniform. They don't need to look ridiculous while trying to do it.
