New Texas Driver's License
The sample above is what the new Texas driver's license looks like. The Texas Department of Safety started issuing the new licenses last week to those getting or renewing a license, or replacing a lost license.
The new license contains a variety of new safety measures to prevent fraud and false IDs. A spokesman for the DPS said, "It's the latest technology. There are some pretty sophisticated measures that are going to help prevent fraud and help law enforcement identify authentic licenses."
Don't rush down to the DPS office to get a new license though. If your current license has not expired, it will remain good until the expiration date. It will not need to be replaced until then.

Worst design ever. Can't wait for our new vehicle plates.
ReplyDeletewhile the new license's plates are really nice the new driver's license is worse than it was before..and it sure was pretty bad ... eh.
ReplyDeleteI just got my new one in today. they look fake! i liked how the old ones looked like they were from Texas. these look like the ones they show on movies kwim?!
ReplyDeleteHa, i catually looked up what the new DLs are supposed to look like bc I thought I got given a fake one at my hotel. I totally just turned someone away bc I thought they gave me a fake ID....
ReplyDeleteEvery time I show this ID people think it's fake. The picture is microscopic and it is extremely annoying. Very bad design.
ReplyDeleteThis is a pathetic design for Texas. Who designed it? Looks like some of our pathetic license plate designs. You can tell our State is still stuck in the past. Texas should take a look at Virginia's design. It does discourage fraud.
ReplyDeletePlace your license under a black light and turn it over. Kind of cool. Are they putting RFID Chips into these yet? Real ID Act of 2005.
