I actually thought this was the reason that dinosaurs are extinct.
P.S. It took me nearly 30 minutes to find that cartoon. I kept searching for "Kliban dinosaurs", but it turns out it's actually by Gary Larson. Since B. Kliban (who unfortunately died nearly 20 years ago) and Gary Larson (who fortunately is still alive) both had the same bizarre sense of humor, I sometimes find myself confusing the two.
