Now there is a new poll that may be even more embarrassing for the teabaggers, and they can't claim this is a liberal poll because it was done on behalf of the right-wing Fox News channel. The Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll was a telephone survey conducted April 6th and 7th of 900 registered voters (with a margin of error of 3 points).
As we know, one of the main thing the teabaggers don't like is taxes. They are convinced that Obama has raised their taxes, especially income taxes. Of course, this is not true. Over 95% of Americans will actually owe less this year in income taxes than last year -- a minimum of $400 less. But the teabaggers have never been very concerned with actual facts, so they continue their war on these fantasy higher taxes.
That's why the new Fox News poll must be embarrassing for them. It seems that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the agency that is tasked with collecting income taxes, is more popular with Americans than the teabaggers are -- by a whopping 13%!
The people in the poll were asked whether they viewed the following eight organizations or people favorably or unfavorably. Here are the numbers of those who rated them favorably:
Barack Obama...............50%
Internal Revenue Service...............49%
Democratic Party...............42%
Republican Party...............40%
Tea Party Movement...............36%
Nancy Pelosi...............29%
Harry Reid...............16%
John Boehner...............12%
You know you're not doing well when the tax collector is 13% more popular than your organization.
