Republicans Have Shifted Tax Burden

The above chart shows how the Republicans have shifted the tax burden in America. The top 400 income earners in this country have seen their tax burden drop to 16.6%, the lowest since before World War II -- and the Republicans still claim their tax burden is too much and want to cut it further (even though they have more wealth than the bottom 50% of Americans). Meanwhile, the tax burden on the typical American family has climbed to 13.6% (from a low of 7.4% in 1955). Can there be any doubt remaining that the Republican policies favor the rich and hurt the rest of America? This chart was found at the excellent political blog Think Progress.
