Zombie Invasion (33 A.D.)

It's that time of the year again, when christians celebrate their hero, Jesus, who was supposed to have risen from the grave on this day. But Jesus wasn't the only member of the walking dead to rise and walk the streets of Jerusalem that day. If you are one of those who believe every word of the Bible is literally true, then you know this already. There were many (dozens? hundreds? more?) who broke free from their graves and appeared to people like Jesus did. Here's how this frightening event is described in Matthew 27:

51 At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. The earth shook, the rocks split 52 and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life. 53 They came out of the tombs after Jesus’ resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared to many people.

Isn't it amazing though that such an earth-shattering event wasn't reported by anyone except the writer of Matthew? Wouldn't one have thought that such a one-of-a-kind never-before-happened thing like the dead rising and appearing to the living would be considered a newsworthy happening -- worthy of at least a mention? I think the unexpected appearance of a horde of zombies would cause quite a panic these days.

(A tip of the hat goes to the great blog, no gods allowed.)
