NBA Champions !

MAVERICKS 105   HEAT 95

The Dallas Mavericks surprised the world this year by winning the NBA championship for the first time in franchise history. A lot of the sports pundits predicted they would go out in the first round against Portland. It didn't happen. Then they said they could never beat the Lakers. All they did was sweep the Lakers in four games. Then they were supposed to be too old to beat the Thunder. Again they came through. Then they were supposed to lose to the Heat, who everyone said had better talent (Wade, James, Bosh). But teamwork wins more games than talent does, and the best team in the NBA this year was the Dallas Mavericks. I don't want to take anything away from MVP Dirk Nowitski, but it was the teamwork of the Mavericks that won the championship. When one player was down, someone else stepped up and came through.

Congratulations Dallas Mavericks. You all played great and you deserved to win.

    Way to go, old guys! :)

    Even the German media followed this series. Dirk Nowitzki is the first native-born German ever to play in the NBA.

    I haven't watched much basketball in recent years, but I made it a point to tune in last night. The Mavs did themselves proud!

  2. "give them cake and games" said, "Give them Games," said Agrippina to her son Nero. "It will keep them calm..."” [speking of the worried and potentially rebellious citzens of rome}
