Shouldn't Christians Act Like Christians ?

I'm not a christian, but I do believe the above quote from Stephen Colbert hits the nail on the head. Right-wing fundamentalists claim this is a christian country founded on christian principles. Why then do they fight so hard against helping the poor and needy? Could it be that they have refashioned their religion to fit their own greedy and bigoted beliefs?

    Fundamentalists always draw their conclusions first then work backward seeking validation. So, yes, they have manipulated their religion to justify their own mean spiritedness.
