Atheist Or Christian ?

Atheist groups have been putting up a lot of billboards across the country lately, and a lot of people have been congratulating the Mid-Ohio Atheists for putting up the billboard above. The problem is that the group had nothing to do with it. It wasn't put up by any atheist group. It is actually meant to be a reply to atheist billboards, and it was put up by the McElroy Road Church of Christ. Isn't this the very definition of EPIC FAIL?

More like Bait & Switch. It would be interesting to see how much traffic (if any) has been directed to McElroy Road Church of Christ's website as a result of this billboard.

They got at least one hit that they wouldn't have (mine!). That being said, from what little I know about internet marketing, investing in a little search engine optimization might have been money better well spent.

  2. It's a fail. The message is confusing -- it could easily be taken as "There is no God -- so don't believe all the people you hear claiming there is one". If you consider it carefully you can work out what they really mean, but billboards aren't supposed to need careful scrutiny to be understood.

In fact, I bet it will be defaced or protested by some other group of religious nutters who mistake it for an atheist message.

  3. I think most atheists' suspicions might be aroused by a URL with the word "grace" in it.

Now that would truly be priceless to witness.
