Republicans would have us believe that the richest Americans are taxed too heavily. But
this chart compiled by the Center for American Progress shows the truth. Taxes for millionaires have actually fallen from an average of 30.4% in 1995 to only 22.4% in 2009. That's a smaller percentage than many people making far less (who actually work for a living).
