We're just a month away from the Iowa caucuses now -- the official start of the primary voting season, when delegates to the party conventions will begin to be chosen. Things could still change before January 3rd, since the candidates have started to focus more on each other instead of the president and things are starting to get nasty, but for right now it looks like Newt Gingrich will finish first in Iowa -- putting pressure on the other candidates to do well in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Here are the two latest polls on the situation in Iowa:
Des Moines Register Poll
Newt Gingrich...............25%
Ron Paul...............18%
Mitt Romney...............16%
Herman Cain...............8%
Michele Bachmann...............8%
Rick Perry...............6%
Rick Santorum...............6%
Jon Huntsman...............2%
NBC News/Marist Poll
Newt Gingrich...............26%
Mitt Romney...............18%
Ron Paul...............17%
Herman Cain...............9%
Rick Perry...............9%
Michele Bachmann...............5%
Rick Santorum...............5%
Jon Huntsman...............2%
