Sadly, this is the belief of far too many of the rich -- that somehow their wealth makes them smarter or better than the rest of America. It is why some of them (like the Koch brothers or Sheldon Adelson) see nothing wrong with spending hundreds of millions of dollars to buy an election. They think their wealth should give them the right to make the rules -- even though they don't understand (or care) how those rules would affect the other 99% of the American people.
