The Real Threat

I believe this is true. The terrorists, whether from the left or the right, whether muslim or christian, can kill a few of us, but they can never destroy our freedom or our democracy. We can only do that ourselves, by giving in to hatred and fear, and by following the false promises of fascists and plutocrats (who will undoubtably come wrapped in the flag, carrying a Bible, and preaching patriotism). Do not fall for their lies. True freedom lies in free speech (even if offensive), equal rights for all (even those we may not like), freedom of religion (even for those who have a different religion, or no religion at all), economic justice (where everyone gets a slice of the economic pie), equal justice for all (through the rule of law), and an abhorrence of racism and misogyny. Anything less is a perversion of the promise of the American Dream, and demeans the sacrifice of those who have fought for that.
