Ann Richards was a brilliant politician, and certainly had a way with words. She knew there was no way that women could get an even break from Republicans and she wasn't afraid to say it. Republicans believe women should be quiet, barefoot, pregnant, and in the kitchen -- and should never have the rights enjoyed by white men. I will never understand how any woman could vote for this current crop of teabagger Republicans.
One of the few bright spots about living in Dallas in the early 90s was that this wonderful woman was governor. Would that there were more like her.
