Capitol X-mas Tree Overnights In Amarillo
This years Capitol Christmas Tree is a 74 year-old Engelmann Spruce that stands 73 feet tall. It was harvested from the White River National Forest in Colorado. The top photo shows the tree being loaded on the truck. The second picture shows the truck as it begins its circuitous journey to Washington, D.C.
On Wednesday, the tree arrived here in Amarillo. It was parked for much of the day near the city library, where citizens turned out to see it and sign the tree's cover (bottom picture). It stayed overnight in Amarillo, before continuing it journey -- next stop Dallas, and then Oklahoma City. It is expected to arrive in Washington shortly after Thanksgiving.

I wonder how big the carbon foot print is for that green tree?
