Too many Americans, especially those on the right, want to make violent crime a racial thing -- something mostly committed by darker-skinned people living in the inner city. But the truth is that violent crimes, like murder, are committed by all races, and mass shootings (like in Phoenix, Newtown, and Aurora are predominantly committed by whites). Isn't it about time we got past the profiling?
