These are the cheapest of the giant corporations -- the ones that pay their workers a very low-wage (at or near the minimum wage). Note that these are not small businesses that are barely scraping by, but corporations that pay their CEOs and executives many millions of dollars -- and are currently reaping record-breaking profits. And they are making those record profits on the backs of their workers. They could all afford to pay their workers a decent and livable wage, but they choose not to do so.
You may think this is just good business. I call it worker abuse. Their workers work hard for these companies, and get paid so little that many of them qualify for government aid (because their puny wage puts them below the poverty line). Personally, I don't think anyone willing to work hard for a living should be paid a poverty wage. It just ain't right.
