And I am proud that this wonderful woman (and her husband) were American citizens. Their court case said an American has the right to marry the person they love, regardless of race or ethnicity. Now, as she said, we need to complete the job of giving all Americans equal marriage rights, by legalizing same-sex marriages across this nation. The Lovings helped the United States take a huge step toward equality. It is time for the rest of us to complete the work they started.
