I grew up listening to MLK but sadly I don't remember this insightful quote. But I knew when I saw and heard a puppy in distress in a hot car, parked in front of Walmart, with no water, needed to be rescued. I reached into the car, got him out and returned him to the lady who was giving away the "free" pups. Children and animals cannot fend for themselves so we must do it for them or forever have their fates on our conscience.
