  1. Wet and woolly barely describes it!

Ethics are derived from "human need and interest", so if I "need" your property because it is in my "interest" then I'll have it!

At least the old religions spelled out their beliefs in some detail with cogent reasonin gbehind them. If that is humanism it is a load of old flannel!

    1. Are you confusing "need" with "want" on purpose, just to confuse the issue? or do you really not understand the difference?

    2. No, I mean 'need' as in 'need', like for example, I 'need' your house when I next come to America because I can't afford a hotel. Are you OK with that? Lest you should wish to query my ned I might just give you a blast of Lear:

O, reason not the need: our basest beggars
Are in the poorest thing superfluous:

And here's another one: "Working to benefit society maximises individual happiness." Not for me, it doesn't! I work to benefit me and my family and if state robbers steal my money allegedly for the benefit of something they call 'society', I become exceedingly miserable!

    3. Spoken like a true right-winger (who believes I've got mine and I don't care about anyone else).
