"The total federal debt of the U.S. government has now increased more than $7 trillion during the slightly more than five and a half years Barack Obama has been president.
That is more than the debt increased under all U.S. presidents from George Washington through Bill Clinton combined, and it is more debt than was accumulated in the first 227 years of this nation's existence--from 1776 through 2003."
I know that is a favorite meme among right-wingers. The only problem is its not true. When you adjust the real dollars among all presidents to 2014 dollars, you'll find that President Obama has not even come close to all those other presidents combined. In fact, George W. Bush raised the debt by more all by himself. And if you look at the percentage rise in each president's term, then Bush and Reagan are by far the champions -- with both raising the national debt by over 100% (more than any Democrat since World War II).
ANONYMOUS COMMENTS WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED. And neither will racist, homophobic, or misogynistic comments. I do not mind if you disagree, but make your case in a decent manner.
Really? You don't say! So how come this, then:
