Congressional Job Approval Still In The Dumps

This chart reflects the Gallup Poll congressional job approval in September for the last 15 years. The latest survey was done between September 4th and 7th of a random national sample of 1,017 adults, and has a margin of error of 4 points. The surveys for previous years have similar numbers.

Note that the approval for Congress has fallen to 14 points -- the lowest number for an off-year election year since Gallup has been polling in this question in 1974. The last time the number was low was in 2010 for an off-year election -- and that resulted in a flipping of control in the House from Democrats to Republicans. This year the approval is four points lower than in 2010. Will the House be flipped again?
