A Nation Based On Greed ?

  1. That man is stupid beyond words! Suppose the Walton family had decided decades ago to stop being 'greedy' and simply closed down their business and retire to Bermuda. How many people would have been put out of work and impoverished?

    1. It is the right-wingers who defend WalMart who are stupid. I wish they had closed down and moved to Bermuda decades ago. They drove thousands of small businesses into bankruptcy. Those businesses would still be going, and paying employees better than WalMart does. The U.S. would be better off, and there would be less working poor.

  2. So in that case all those American people, you know, the *People* you never stop prating about, who of their own free will and volition decided not to use their local store which was expensive and parking was difficult and where they only stocked a quarter of the tings they wanted and instead *chose* to use a Walmart which was cheap as chips, with acres of car-parking and which stocked everything, they are ones to blame!

And you, I assume, using the power of the state would attempt to reverse the situation. Yes, well, good luck with that one!

    1. No. Walmart is to blame. It was "cheap as chips" because it refused to pay its employees a livable wage.

  3. Right they did the low prices by screwing their employees. They also cheat by lowering prices long enough to push others out of business than raising prices again. ANd yes I buy there because there is no other stores to buy at. But I do buy my muffins at the local bakery cuz it is not only awesome but still going.
