Only 38% Believe Police Treat Blacks Unfairly

This chart was made from a recent Rasmussen Poll -- done on December 1st and 2nd of a random national sample of 1,000 likely voters, with a margin of error of 3 points.

Frankly, I was shocked when I first read this poll. Only 38% of Americans think Blacks are treated unfairly by the police, while a whopping 49% say they are not treated unfairly (and 12% say they don't know). That's less than 4 out of 10 Americans that recognize the truth.

And it is Whites that are skewing this survey. About 54% say our justice system (from police to courts) are fair to minorities, while 84% of Blacks and 56% of other minorities believe the opposite.

What the hell is wrong with the majority of Whites in the United States? It's not like the unfair treatment of Blacks by police in this country is a secret. Blacks are stopped more, searched more, mistreated more, and killed more by the police than Whites -- and the statistics are not even close. And this has been reported in the print media and the broadcast media.

You'd have to be living in a cave with no connection to civilization -- or be willfully ignorant (meaning you don't want to know the truth or don't care about the truth). And in my opinion, willful ignorance translates into either latent or outright racism. I know most of these willfully ignorant Whites will deny they are racists, but their beliefs give them away.

I probably sound like a broken record, but I still believe it's time for decent people in this country to step forward and do something about this.
