Congressional Approval Remains Historically Low
This chart is from surveys taken by the Gallup Poll on the openings of each new Congress for the last 11 times. The latest survey was done between February 8th and 11th of a random national sample of 837 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points.
It shows that congressional job approval remains very low (20%), and it has been that low (or lower) for the last four Congresses. But it doesn't have to be that low. Note that previous to that, Congress had a much higher rating. The public is still disgusted with the ideological games being played in Congress. They want the two parties to compromise for the good of the country.
