American Public Is Still Angry With Both Political Parties

Looking at the chart above, it is easy to see that the public is still pretty disgusted with both political parties. The Democrats have a favorability percentage of only 39%, and the Republicans only 37%. This is the first time since Gallup has been questioning Americans on party favorability that neither party has topped 40%.

I do find the latest numbers interesting though. Note that since the election last November the Democrats have seen their favorability go up by 3 points, while their unfavorability dropped by 7 points. It has been just the opposite for the Republicans -- with their favorability dropping by 5 points, and their unfavorability rising by 1 point.

It seems that the public has not been impressed with the job the Republican majority is doing in Washington.

These numbers are from a Gallup Poll done between March 5th and 8th of a random national sample of 1,025 adults, with a margin of error of 4 points.
