French Rider Uses Final Climb To Win Stage 8 Of Tour

I thought the final category 3 climb to the stage 8 finish might be a little too much for the sprinters, and that proved to be the case. A French climber, Alexis Vuillermoz, crossed the finish line 5 seconds ahead of fellow Frenchman Daniel Martin, and 10 seconds ahead of Spaniard Alejandro Valverde Belmonte. Christopher Froome of Great Britain was the eigth rider to finish, and that was good enough to keep him in the Yellow jersey.

Stage 9 is one of my favorite events in the Tour -- the team time trial. Each team will ride together against the clock on the 28 kilometer course, and all members of the team will get the time of the fifth team member to cross the finish line.
