One-half (50%) of the American public say they would be embarrassed to have Donald Trump be their president. That's a serious problem, and one he'll have to overcome to have any chance of being elected. About 35% say the same about Hillary Clinton -- about the number of Republicans and Independents leaning Republican.
The chart was made from information in the new Quinnipiac University Poll -- done between December 16th and 20th of a random national sample of 1,140 registered voters, with a margin of error of 2.9 points.
