Trump's Inaugural Approval Is Lowest Of Modern Presidents
More bad news for the narcissist-in-chief. The inaugural approval rating for the Trump presidency is the lowest of any modern president (from 1953 through 2017). Trump's 45% approval is 6 points lower than George H.W. Bush and Ronald Reagan (who tied with inaugural approval ratings of 51%). It is 23 points lower than Barack Obama and Dwight Eisenhower (who tied with inaugural approval ratings of 68%).
Trump also had a disapproval rating of 45% -- far higher than any other president's (with George W. Bush finishing second with a disapproval rating of 25% -- 20 points below Trump's disapproval). President Obama only had a 12% disapproval rating immediately after taking office (33 points below that of Trump).
Trump may still be trying to claim he has a mandate, but the American people don't agree.
This chart is from the Gallup Poll -- done between January 20th and 22nd of a random national sample of 1,525 adults, with a 3 point margin of error.
