Ryan Blames Poor/Working People For Losing Insurance

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) was on Face the Nation:
QUESTION: How many will lose coverage under GOP health plan?
PAUL RYAN: “I can’t answer that question. It’s up to people.”
The quote above shows just how slimy Speaker Ryan really is. His replacement plan for Obamacare will cost at least 15 million people (and probably many more than that) the health insurance they were able to get under Obamacare. But he wants you to believe that his inadequate plan would let everyone buy insurance, and if anyone doesn't buy it then it's because they didn't want insurance.

That's more than disingenuous -- it's an outrageous LIE! Providing access is not the same as providing insurance (or even providing a real chance for people to buy insurance). Access means nothing to an individual or family that does not make enough to purchase insurance.

No one should be asked to deny food or housing to their family to buy health insurance. Decent health insurance should be a right of all citizens, and those who cannot afford it should be helped by the government. The GOP plan doesn't do that. It treats health insurance as a product instead of a right -- a product that all Americans can choose to buy or reject.

Ryan, and his GOP cohorts, don't really care about the health and well-being of all Americans. They only care about the rich, and that's why their "plan" benefits the rich far more than it does anyone else -- and actually hurts poor and working class Americans.
