These charts reflect information contained in a new Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between May 6th and 8th of a random national sample of 1,232 registered voters, with a margin of error of 3 points.
The poll asked those registered voters whether Donald Trump has lied to the American people. A substantial majority of 63% (nearly two out of three) said he has lied, while only 19% said he has not. They then asked those who said he had lied whether he lies more, less, or about the same as previous presidents. A whopping 74% (about three out of four) said he lies more than other presidents have.
They are right. Trump has told the American people thousands of lies since being sworn in -- far more than any other president. Trump simply cannot be trusted to tell Americans the truth, and most Americans know that.
