Support For Legalizing Marijuana Continues To Grow

These charts were made using the results of a recent Morning Consult Poll -- done between June 28th and July 3rd of a national sample of 2,202 adults, and has a margin of error of 2 points.

It shows that the support for the legalization of marijuana in the United States continues to grow. Currently about 63% of registered voters support legalization, while only 26% oppose it. And all genders, age groups, races/ethnicities, income levels, education levels, regions, community types, religions, and political affiliations have majorities in favor of legalization -- including 51% of Republicans and 54% of evangelicals (two groups that have been opposed in the past).

It's time to stop punishing those who use marijuana recreationally. It's time to legalize it. And it's also time to tax it at both the state and federal level. Marijuan is the least dangerous of all drugs, and it makes no sense to keep it illegal.
