Another Poll Shows Texas Senate Race Is Close

Yesterday, I brought you the results of the new Texas Lyceum Poll that showed Democrat Beto O'Rourke trailing Republican Ted Cruz by only two points. Today another poll has been released on the race. This one shows O'Rourke trailing by 6 points (43% to 49%).

That shouldn't discourage Democrats. That is certainly not a safe margin for Cruz, and it just verifies that the race is winnable by either candidate. There's still three months to go, and several debates to watch (not to mention a flood of TV ads). This race is close, and it will be decided by how big a turnout the Democrats can get.

The Quinnipiac University Poll was done between July 26th and 31st of a sample of 1,118 Texas voters, and has a 3.5 point margin of error.
