Public Says "Poor Leadership" Is Biggest Problem In U.S.

What is the biggest problem currently facing the United States? The top four problems are illustrated in the chart above. About 7% say it is health care, 8% say it's race relations, and 21% say it's immigration. But the biggest problem seen by most is poor leadership in government. That had dropped to about 19%, but after the government shutdown it shot back up to 29%.

The chart represents the feeling of a national sample of 1,017 adults in a recent Gallup Poll -- done between January 2nd and 10th with a margin of error of 4 points.
