During the 2016 presidential campaign, Donald Trump told voters that he, and only he, could solve the problems facing this country. He told them that was because he was a great negotiator -- the best negotiator in the world. It hasn't worked out that way though.
It turns out that the only negotiating tactics that he has are threats and bullying. Those may have worked in the business world (at least to some extent). But the political world is different.
He has received a rude political awakening. In politics, his opponents are not intimidated by his threats and bullying. They expect real negotiating, with a give and take from both sides -- and they are well versed in the art of political negotiating. Trump is not.
It turns out that Trump is thoroughly incompetent in political negotiating -- maybe the worst in the world.
