Trump Doesn't Compare Well With Our Last Ten Presidents

These charts were made from information supplied by the Gallup Poll. The top chart shows the current job approval by the public on the ten presidents preceding Donald Trump. The second chart shows the average job approval each of those ten presidents had while in office.

The red line on both charts shows Trump's average job approval in recent poll's. That average (42.8%) has been fairly steady throughout his time in office.

Note that the public currently sees nine out of the ten presidents as doing a better job than Trump is doing. Only Nixon, viewed through the lens of history, is rated worse.

Trump does even worse when the average job approval of each is viewed while in office. All ten presidents, including Nixon, was viewed as doing a better job than Trump while in office.

Trump doesn't measure up to recent past presidents. There is a good reason for that -- dishonesty and incompetence.
