Public Still Supports Withdrawal From Afghanistan

The charts above are from the Pew Research Center. They come from a survey they did of 10,348 adults nationwide between August 23rd and 29th. The margin of error for the survey is 1.6 points.

About 54% of Americans say the withdrawal from Afghanistan was the right thing to do, while only 42% disagreed. The disagreement comes mainly from Republicans, where 34% thought it was the right thing and 64% said it was the wrong thing to do.

But one thing that everyone agrees with is that the United States failed to achieve its goals in Afghanistan. That includes 69% of adults, 69% of Democrats, and 70% of Republicans.
