These charts reflect the results of the latest Economist / YouGov Poll -- done between January 7th and 9th of a nationwide sample of 1,417 registered voters, with a 2.9 point margin of error.
This poll shows that 43% of voters support both President Biden and Donald Trump. And by a five point margin, they think Donald Trump will win the election.
That's frightening! And being frightening is a good thing.
Trump voters will turn out in the election. They are set in their beliefs. But I doubt he can increase his percentage.
That means Biden must increase his percentage before Election Day, and the only way to do that is to have a large turnout.
If Biden supporters or independents stay home on Election Day, then Trump will win. That would be disastrous for the country, and could seriously damage our democracy.
Voters not only should be frightened, but should remain so through Election Day. If they are frightened of a Trump presidency (which they should be), then they will turn out in massive numbers to defeat him -- like they did in the 2020 election.
