Anonymous Attacks NAMBLA Website

I like to think I am a big supporter of the First Amendment, even when the speech being protected is obnoxious speech. But even First Amendment supporters must have limits, and for me, promoting pedophilia is over the line. That's why I was actually happy to see the internet hacker group, Anonymous, take on NAMBLA.

For those of you who haven't heard about NAMBLA, it's full name is the North American Man-Boy Love Association -- and it is an organization that supports the "rights" of pedophiles (portraying pedophilia as a natural love between adults and children, including those who have been convicted of this sick crime).

A few days ago (April 25), pedophiles celebrated their own "pride" day -- called Alice Day. Here's some of what Anonymous wrote about the day:

On numerous unnameable forums, where adult men chat publicly about their love and affection for young girls and boys, users post about how they plan to celebrate Alice Day—often by wearing pink and spending time in parks to "LG (little girl) watch." Some might hand out pamphlets about CL, or "childlove," in an attempt to decrease stigma against and raise awareness of what to them is a significant social movement: pedophile pride.
These men claim they would never physically abuse or rape a child; it would be anathema to the childlove philosophy. They want to cuddle, kiss, hold, and otherwise express their affection for children—and if they can't in person, they'll do it from a distance, emboldened by Alice Day.

Like Anonymous, I don't for a minute believe that many of these sick bastards confine themselves to "cuddling" children. They believe there is nothing wrong with having sex with children, and sites like NAMBLA promote this kind of perversion.

So Anonymous chose April 25th to cause these perverts a few problems. They attacked the NAMBLA site and several other pedophilia internet sites -- shutting them down for the day, defacing their web pages, and exposing the personal information of suspects. And from what I hear, they were pretty successful (as they normally are).

I don't know about you, but I support Anonymous in this action. I just wish they could shut down all the pedophilia websites for good. Thank you Anonymous!

Murdoch Media Scandal Spreads

It was only a few days ago that media mogul Rupert Murdoch still thought he could head off his troubles with the British government after it became public knowledge that his newspaper News of the World had hacked into the phones of celebrities, crime victims, and government officials. But try as he might, Murdoch can't seem to keep the scandal from spreading.

He flew to England last week and, after shutting down News of the World, expressed his full confidence in its editor Rebekah Brooks (pictured above). Only days later Brooks resigned from News Corp (Murdoch's Media company) and now has been arrested by London police. Sources say she is cooperating with authorities. Another former News of the World editor, Andy Coulson had already been arrested.

In addition to the arrests, we now learn that London police chief Paul Stephenson has resigned -- apparently for his cozy relationship with the hackers. In addition Les Hinton, Dow Jones CEO and former Murdoch employee, has also resigned. It is suspected he had a deeper involvement with the hacking that previously believed and may even have lied to the British Parliament.

Now it comes out that another Murdoch newspaper, The Daily Mirror, may also have been involved in hacking some celebrity phones (and it could have happened while CNN's Piers Morgan was heading that paper). And it appears that actor Jude Law's phone was hacked while he was in the United States -- a violation of U.S. law.

This scandal seems to be growing by the day and there is no telling have far it will eventually reach. Did Fox News get in on the phone hacking scheme? We already know they are ethically-challenged, and I wouldn't doubt that Murdoch had them doing the same thing his British entities were doing.

You Play With Fire - You Get Burned

Evidently no one was paying attention to the vile members of the Westboro Baptist Church last week, so they decided to get some publicity by claiming they were the victims of a threat by the computer hacker group known as Anonymous. This is the group that defended WikiLeaks by temporarily shutting down the computer sites of businesses trying to run WikiLeaks out-of-business and off the internet -- like PayPal, MasterCard, Visa and Amazon.

Anonymous was quick to let the media know they had not made any threat toward Westboro Baptist. The whole mess was a hoax perpetrated by Phelps and his clan (because narcissists like Phelps can't stand being ignored). Anonymous said while they disagreed with the vile message of Westboro Baptist, the church had the right to say what they wanted. Anonymous said they were busy with much more important work, like helping the democracy movement in Libya and other parts of the Arab world. They simply asked that Westboro Baptist stop trying to use them to get publicity.

But asking a nut like Phelps to stop making a fool of himself is a lot like asking an alcoholic to stop after only one drink -- it has very little chance of being successful. Phelps and Westboro Baptist continued to attack Anonymous and dared them to do anything about it. Well, he got his silly wish. A couple of days ago, Anonymous took all six of Westboro Baptist's sites down -- GodHatesFags.com, PriestsRapeBoys.com, GodHatesAmerica.com, GodHatesTheWorld.com, JewsKilledJesus.com, and AmericaIsDoomed.com.

Normally I don't like for sites to be shut down like this, but I'm having a hard time feeling sorry for the folks at Westboro Baptists. They were warned and they ignored that warning. It's like a person that was warned that a pit bull was not on the leash and they should stop teasing the dog, but they continue to do it until they get bit. Phelps kept attacking Anonymous after being warned, and they finally bit his ass.

If you play with fire long enough, you will get burned. I'm sure Westboro Baptist will get their sites back soon, but I hope they've learned their lesson.

Here is the message Anonymous left on the Westboro Baptist sites (and this was all that could be seen on those sites). You can click on it to get a larger image.

Last Hacker Joke Of The Decade

I was interested in this story for a couple of reasons. First, I am a huge fan of Van Morrison (pictured). I don't just think he's a good singer, but one of the best singers in the world. Second, this may be the last hacker joke of the last decade (to be widely covered by news agencies). It all started with the following news blurb:

LOS ANGELES — A new Van Morrison has been born.

The Irish singer says on his Web site that he and his wife, GiGi, welcomed their son, George Ivan Morrison III, on Monday.

The couple says that "Little Van" is "the spitting image of his daddy." The baby is a dual citizen of the United States and United Kingdom.

No other information was available. Morrison's publicist, Phil Lobel, says the exact time and location of the birth is being kept private.

News agencies, including the Associated Press, picked up the story and soon it was big news that the 64 year-old singer was a new father. But there are a few things wrong with the story.

First, Morrison's wife is not named GiGi, but Michelle. His American agent is named GiGi. Second, neither has had a baby, and no one else has had a baby fathered by Van Morrison recently.

Morrison does have an American publicist named Phil Lobel, and it was Lobel who released the story to the press. He said he saw the birth announcement on Morrison's web site and decided it needed some publicity. He verified the story to the media without checking with Morrison.

The reclusive Morrison was going to just ignore the story, but close friends talked him into releasing a statement correcting the erroneous story. In the statement, Morrison says he remains "very happily married" to his wife Michelle.

It went on to say, "Once the claims were brought to our attention, they were taken down from the site but not before news organizations repeated these falsehoods. The comments which appeared on my web site did not come from me. They are completely and utterly without foundation."

Spokesmen for the singer said the web site is being redesigned, since this is the second time it has been hacked since October.

I've been hacked !

Evidently, someone has hacked into my hotmail account. They sent an e-mail to everyone on my contact list advertising laptop computers. I PROMISE YOU THAT I DID NOT SEND THAT E-MAIL!!!

I've changed the password, but do I need to do more? Should I delete the entire account and start over? I could use your advice, if you're a computer geek.
