The wife of former DFW Congressman Martin Frost died on friday. She had been battling breast cancer for several years. Kathryn George Frost was an Army Major General who had retired in the Spring of 2005. She was 57 years old.
General Frost's last command was at the Army and Air Force Exchange Service in Dallas. General Frost was also responsible for setting up post and base exchanges in Afghanistan and Iraq after the deployment of American troops to those countries. Congressman Frost said, "She was a highly accomplished Army officer. She was the senior woman in the Army on active duty when she retired in April of 2005." The Frosts were married in 1998.
Both the General and the Congressman served our community and our country with distinction and honor. We applaud their service, and on this sad day, send Congressman Frost our sympathy and our best wishes.
