Boycott Waged Against Arizona Companies

Reaction to Arizona's racist, unconstitutional, anti-immigrant law continues. Many celebrities have spoken out and some organizations have cancelled conventions and meetings in the state. There has even been talk of moving the 2011 Major league Baseball All-Star Game from Arizona to another state (and some athletes are talking about skipping the game if it is not moved).

There is also a boycott gaining steam against the products and services of companies that are headquartered in Arizona. And in this recession, even a partially successful boycott could cost these companies dearly.

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) is a supporter of the racist Arizona law, and is very upset about the boycott. He says the boycott is not just wrong, it is "unpatriotic". That's good enough for me to join the boycott. Steve King, like his Minnesota counterpart Michele Bachmann, is one of those nuts who's consistently wrong about everything.

For those of you who would like to participate in the boycott, True Blue Texan has put together at least a partial list of Arizona-based companies. Here they are:

  • U-Haul
  • PetSmart
  • Cold Stone Creamery
  • America West Airlines
  • Circle K
  • Lifelock
  • US Airways
  • Discount Tire
  • Fender Musical Instruments
  • Pei Wei Asian Diner
  • Best Western
  • Greyhound Corporation
  • PF Chang's China Bistro
  • Ramada
  • Sprouts (Grocery chain)
