It's always amazed me that those people opposed to abortion cling to beliefs guaranteed to force women to make that choice much more often. It is obvious that the best way to prevent abortions is to prevent unwanted pregnancies -- and that is best accomplished through education, birth control, and insuring that all women (and all people in general) have adequate health care. Abortion will never be prevented by making it illegal. That will only drive it back into the back alleys and make it more dangerous.
They're assuming no one would break the law. They're trying for a world population of 25 billion. Considering how marginal the balance is at 7 billion, I think they're nuts, but...
