A Little Bit More Good News For Hillary

Now that President Obama is in his second term, the question of whether this country would elect a minority to be our president has been emphatically answered. He was not only elected but re-elected, proving his initial election was not a fluke but the will of the voters. But another question remains. Are the people of the United States ready for a woman to be president?

The answer to that is contained in a recent Rasmussen Poll (conducted on January 13th and 14th of a random sample of 1,000 likely voters nationwide, and with a margin of error of 3 points). It turns out that not only are a big majority of Americans ready for a woman to be president, but a whopping 77% of them expect it to happen within the next 10 years.

This is very good news for Hillary Clinton, who is the only woman who currently has a viable chance to be elected to that office. Only 18% say there won't be a woman president within 10 years -- and I suspect they are die-hard teabaggers who know if it happens it will be Hillary Clinton. They are afraid that Hillary would have some long coattails, and could bring a lot of new down ballot Democrats into office with her -- and they're probably right about that.
